High Desert Vista has one of the most amazing views in Cottonwood! Our spacious yet cozy vacation home sits conveniently between Sedona's famous red rocks, historic Jerome, the Verde Canyon Railroad, and the boutiques and tasting rooms of Old Town - a perfect home base for your northern AZ adventure. Great for active travelers who hike, raft, bike, golf...! You'll have 2 BRs w/private bath on balcony level, plus use of sofa bed in great room. Come see why we say, "It's cooler in Cottonwood!" The space High Desert Vista is our personal vacation home which is available for short-term guests when we're not there. Great room: - large dining table - queen sleep sofa - Smart TV with streaming services - exercise bike - variety of board and card games - fast Wi-Fi Well-stocked chef's kitchen has plenty of counter space, refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, coffeemaker, plus all the pots, pans, utensils and spices needed to cook a gourmet feast (panini press, blender, tagine, crock pot, food processor...you name it!). Relax on the large deck and drink in the amazing views of Mingus Mountain, Cottonwood, and world-famous Sedona, along with your coffee or wine. It's the #1 amenity our guests comment on, and the pictures don't do it justice. Watch the sun and clouds play with the colors on the red rocks – the view changes dramatically throughout the day. It’s no wonder this view has inspired painters for centuries. On a clear night, the stars are amazing! Balcony bedroom #1 (Antelope): - queen bed, nightstands - writing desk w/chair - Smart TV with Roku streaming services - closet, built-in shelves and drawers - lamps with USB ports Balcony bedroom #2 (Gecko): - queen bed, bedside shelves - antique armoire - lamps with both regular outlets and USB ports Windows at the top of the cathedral ceiling in both rooms make these bright and airy spaces, great for early risers. (Sleep masks provided if you're not.) Both beds have highly-rated Beautyrest PressureSmart plush pillow top queen mattresses of medium firmness. Quality linens used throughout. Balcony bathroom is private to your group (2-4 people). A wide staircase leads to all balcony rooms; no guest bathroom/bedrooms are on main level. Bathroom: - shower with seat (no tub) and grab bar - shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser - single sink - fluffy towels - lots of counter and storage space - New! Nest thermostat accessible to guests so you can regulate inside temps yourself. - Dedicated desk/workspace at end of balcony. - Brochures and coupons for local restaurants and attractions in entryway. - Covered carport with space for two vehicles. - Gas grill, outdoor furniture, and games stored on carport (shared with guests in lower-level apartment). AZ TPT Lic. # 21393202 Guest access Guests have access to balcony bedrooms and bath, as well as main level kitchen, great room, and deck. Guests do not have access to owners' suite or laundry room. Lower-level "in-law" apartment, which has its own entrance, may be rented out to other guests (who have no access to main part of house). Please be mindful of guests in the lower level, as their bedroom is under your dining room, and respect quiet hours between 11 pm and 6 am. Please inquire if you're interested in renting both spaces (Balcony and Hacienda Suite) concurrently (sleeps max of 8). Other details to note Due to hosts' allergies: - No cigar/cigarette/marijuana smoking or vaping either inside or on the surrounding property. A discarded butt has the potential to start a brushfire. We will charge guests who violate this rule for cleaning the smoke smell from the house. - No pets/animals, including service animals. If you arrive with any type of animal, even if crated, we will turn away you as a late cancellation. We're happy to recommend boarding kennels. We keep a pet-free home and can ensure other guests with allergies that no animals have stayed on property. Interaction with guests Dennis and I live in Scottsdale, AZ, but enjoy our vacation home when time allows. When we're not there, it's available for guests. We have an owners' suite off the great room which remains locked during your stay, as does laundry room. Other than that, you'll have access to all areas in the main part of the house. (Basement "in-law" apartment may be occupied by other guests.) We are proponents of the sharing economy and hope you are, too. Please help us create an environment people want to visit.
